SPECIAL INTEREST
Cameloid Breeding
Bolivia is one of the leading cameloid breeding countries in the world; there are four species of Andean cameloids; llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicuñas, llamas being the largest in population. Most of cameloid breeding is carried out by individual indigenous families in rural Andean communities, but there are also some technically advanced cameloid breeding farms where llamas are valuable for their zero cholesterol meat and vicuñas for their wool, the finest and lightest in the world.
