SPECIAL INTEREST
Coffee Town
In the middle of a dense mountain jungle–between the glaciers of the Andes Range and the Amazon jungle–there are certain areas of intensive coffee production. Caranavi is the most known coffee town in Bolivia. This picturesque village produces well-known high-altitude coffee (above 2,500 meters). This organic under-shadow coffee grain is manually and selectively harvested, producing high quality gourmet coffee, mostly for foreign consumption. Our itineraries visit the mountain plantations, the rustic production processes and share the traditions and daily life of this isolated mountain jungle coffee town.
